Moondani Balluk Courtyard Opening

The Moondani Balluk Courtyard was opened officially with a smoking ceremony last week.

The courtyard is a place of cultural safety and knowledge sharing for those studying at Victoria University’s Moondani Balluk Indigenous Academic Unit on the Footscray Campus. Victoria University Vice Chancellor and President Adam Shoemaker and Moondani Balluk Executive Director Karen Jackson (KJ) officiated over the ceremony which placed Moondani Balluk and a recognition of Country at the heart of the campus. 

Congratulations to everyone who has contributed to the project, especially to Dr Paola Balla, artist and collaborator, and a special thank you to KJ for her leadership and perseverance in achieving this milestone.
