It is with great excitement that we announce two well-deserved promotions within the REALMstudios team. Both Emily and Angus have shown outstanding commitment to quality outcomes, creativity in their work and caring for their teams. These promotions reflect not only the depth of their contributions to our projects and culture, but also the trust and respect they’ve earned across the practice.

Emily – Promoted to Senior

Emily is a spatial thinker with a rare ability to bring clarity, nuance, and richness to complex urban contexts. With a background in architecture and urban design, she combines strategic insight with finely tuned design sensibilities. Her understanding of how the built environment shapes activity, legibility, and experience allows her to move fluidly between scales, contributing meaningfully to everything from major infrastructure projects, strategic planning initiatives to intimate public realm interventions. Whether leading community-focused design processes or developing lyrical, place-based responses, Emily brings intellectual rigour, care, and a unique fluency to all aspects of her work. Emily has been an integral part of the Sydney team for the past four years, playing a key role in bringing together the JILA and REALM teams and helping to create the incredible shared studio space we now enjoy.  Her promotion to Senior acknowledges the growing leadership role she plays in the studio and the value she brings through her design thinking, precision, and quietly impactful approach.

Angus – Promoted to Associate

Angus is an accomplished landscape architect with over eight years of experience delivering thoughtful, place-responsive design. Since joining REALMstudios two years ago, he has consistently led with clarity, creativity, and care. His work reflects a deep understanding of site and brief, producing work that is both functional and evocative, shaped by context and grounded in community needs. A passionate collaborator, Angus works seamlessly across disciplines, bringing together architects, engineers, planners, and environmental specialists to deliver integrated outcomes. He combines strong technical capability with a solutions-focused mindset and is deeply trusted by colleagues and clients alike. In recognition of his leadership in design, delivery, and team culture, Angus steps into the role of Associate. He will also take on responsibility for leading our quality assurance processes, helping to maintain and elevate the design integrity that defines our work.
