REALMstudios welcomes Jonathan Cristal to the team

REALMstudios is delighted to welcome Jonathan Cristal, Senior Landscape Architect, to our Perth studio. With over a decade of experience across Australia and New Zealand and spanning local government, university and private practice, Jonathan’s work extends across parklands, urban reserves, residential communities, commercial precincts, and educational campuses.

Jono, as he is warmly known, sees design as a dialogue — an ongoing conversation between people, place, and environment. In his thoughtful and collaborative approach, he has become adept at navigating complex briefs, organising projects from concept through to construction, and delivering outcomes that are sustainable, contextually sensitive, and connected to their surroundings. His design philosophy is rooted in the belief that well-considered landscape can foster community well-being and create meaningful, enduring connections between people and place.

A creative at heart, Jonathan’s passion for design is enriched by his pursuits outside of work. Whether behind a camera capturing the raw beauty of a seascape or sketching ideas inspired by direct observation, he values the immediacy and authenticity that comes from engaging closely with the world around him. These practices continually inform and inspire his professional work, enabling him to bring fresh perspectives and nuanced detail to each project.
