RAC Street Tree Remix Guide
The RAC Street Tree Remix Guide is a practical, people-centred resource that empowers local governments, community groups and practitioners to test street improvements through low-cost, temporary interventions.
Developed by RAC in collaboration with REALM, the Guide provides a step-by-step framework for planning, designing, delivering and evaluating “Street Remixes” that make streets safer, more welcoming and more sustainable.
Grounded in the RAC Street Standard, it promotes collaboration, innovation and evidence-based decision-making, helping communities trial new ideas, build local capacity and demonstrate how small-scale changes can create lasting benefits for movement, connection, wellbeing and place.

RAC was thrilled to work with REALM on the development of the Street Remix Guide. It draws on REALM’s extensive expertise and insights from our multi-million dollar investment in supporting tactical urbanism and placemaking projects across WA.
The Guide outlines a logical, step-by-step process for governments, communities and professionals to trial whether a different and temporary street configuration effectively slows down vehicles and builds vibrant street life with more people out walking, riding and socialising. We hope the Guide triggers a wave of new innovative projects across WA and we see a bigger shift towards safer and people-friendly streets.
